The First Vice-President Eshaq Jahangiri says gas is the focal point in generation of more than 75,000 megawatts of electricity in Iranian power plants.
Talking to reporters upon arrival in Khouzestan Province on Saturday, Jahangiri said one of the policies of government is diversification of energy and now, major portion of energy of the country is obtained out of turning fossil substances to power.
He said so, "we should move towards use of renewable energy sources."
He noted that using nuclear energy will help durability of the network, environment protection and economizing fossil fuel consumption.
He hoped that power plants will be set up in other parts of the country to generate such energies.
